Gold and silver prices are entered manually. The website does not automatically retrieve a current market price. Independently verify the price, currency, unit, source, and timestamp you use. Results are estimates, and Zakat treatment can depend on personal circumstances and qualified scholarly guidance.

What this tool does

Converts a gold weight into a monetary value at the per-gram price you supply. It handles the unit conversion so that a figure quoted in tola or troy ounces can be valued without a separate step.

When to use it

  • You have a weight in tola, troy ounces, or kilograms and a price quoted per gram.
  • You need a metal value to carry into a Zakat calculation, an inventory, or an insurance record.
  • You want to value a holding without assessing whether Zakat is due on it.

How the figure is produced

  1. The weight is converted to grams using the fixed factor for the unit you selected.
  2. The gram figure is multiplied by the per-gram price you entered.
  3. Both the converted gram weight and the resulting value are shown, so the conversion can be checked independently of the multiplication.

Someone values 5 tola of gold at a sourced price of 75.00 per gram.

Tola is used with more than one definition in different markets. This tool uses 11.6638038 g throughout; if your dealer quotes a different tola, convert before entering the weight.

Assumptions built in

  • The weight you enter is the metal content, not the gross weight of an item containing other materials.
  • The per-gram price you enter already corresponds to the purity or fineness you hold.
  • Unit conversion uses fixed factors: 1 kilogram = 1,000 g, 1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 g, 1 tola = 11.6638038 g.

Limitations

  • No price is fetched, cached, or supplied for you. The figure used is the one you type, so the result is only as current as the price you sourced and the moment you sourced it.
  • A spot or reference price is not a price you can transact at. Dealers apply a spread, and jewellery normally carries making charges on top.
  • This is a valuation, not a Zakat calculation — no threshold is applied and no rate is charged.
