Gold and silver are where unit and purity errors do the most damage, because a single confusion — tola versus gram, 22k priced as 24k — shifts a valuation by 10–40%. This inventory sheet exists to make each piece's weight, unit, purity, and price source explicit before any of it is valued. Use it when metal is a meaningful part of what you are assessing, and especially when pieces were acquired over years in different units.

A family holding two bangles bought by tola, a 24k coin bought by gram, and a silver tea set would record four rows with their original units, then convert to one unit (grams — 1 tola ≈ 11.66 g) in the conversion column, keeping both figures. Stones and non-metal parts are noted per piece so their weight is not priced as gold. When the rows reach the Gold or Silver Zakat Calculator, the per-gram price you enter matches the purity actually recorded, piece by piece.

The sheet does not supply prices — the site retrieves no live metal price anywhere — and it does not resolve whether personal-use jewellery is Zakatable, a question on which recognised scholarly positions genuinely differ. It records what you own; the comparison pages explain the disagreement; a qualified scholar resolves your case.
