Nisab is not a single number: it moves with metal prices and differs by basis (commonly 85 g of gold or 595 g of silver). For someone whose wealth hovers near the threshold, whether Zakat is due can genuinely depend on which week you check. This worksheet tracks the threshold over time — the price you sourced, its date, the resulting Nisab value, and your wealth's position relative to it — so a borderline case is documented rather than guessed.

Recording monthly, you might log a silver-basis Nisab of 595 g × your sourced per-gram price, alongside your net zakatable wealth that day. Six rows later, the pattern is visible: above the threshold since March, meaning the Hawl question starts there, not in January when you first wondered. That timeline — impossible to reconstruct from memory — is exactly what a scholar will ask about in a borderline case.

The worksheet does not choose your Nisab basis — gold and silver bases produce very different thresholds and the choice is a methodological position, explained in the Nisab guide and comparison pages. It also does not date your Hawl for you; it preserves the evidence from which that judgment can be made.
